What ARC Actually Is

You're allowed to read this and decide it's not for you.

Β

Eight weeks. Eight young women. One call a week, seventy-five minutes, on video.

It's run by me, Katie. My job in that room is not to fix you, give you advice, or report back to anyone about what you said.

Here's what actually happens in it. You learn to notice the pattern while you're in it β€” the one your result named, and the others you use in different rooms. You practice hearing what you think before everyone else tells you what to think. You learn what to do with a feeling that isn't do what it says. You get better at saying the true thing, and at knowing which things are yours to carry and which aren't.

Nobody comes out of it certain about their life. That isn't the goal, and anyone promising it is selling you something. What you get is more useful than certainty: you can hear yourself, which means you can choose.

The honest part about parents:

Here's the thing I should say plainly.

If you're 16 or 17, a parent has to pay for this and agree to it. If you're 18 or 19, you can decide for yourself, though someone might still be helping with the money.

So for a lot of you, the next step is a conversation, and I know that isn't nothing. Depending on your house, it might be easy or it might be complicated.

If it helps, you could say something like:

"I took a quiz about how I handle pressure and it was more accurate than I expected. There's an eight-week group that goes with it. I'd want to do it. Can we look at it together?"

You don't have to explain your result to them. You don't have to justify wanting it. Wanting something is enough of a reason to ask.

What your parent will and won't know:

They'll know you're enrolled and when the calls are. They'll get an orientation before it starts, so they understand what it is.

They will not be in the room. They won't get reports about what you said. They don't get access to the recordings.

There's one limit, and I'd rather you hear it from me now than be surprised by it: if something comes up that means you or someone else isn't safe, I'm required to act on that. That's true of anyone doing this kind of work. Everything else stays in the room.

If you're interested, the details for a parent areΒ below.

And if you're not, that's a real answer. Keep the guide, keep the practice, and come back to it when you notice the pattern showing up. Nothing about today asked anything of you, and this page doesn't either.
