Your archetype
The Protector
You lead with strength. But strength has become armor.
Watch this first
Sixty seconds. Watch this before you read on.
The pattern
The pattern
You are not the villain in your son's story. You are a man who learned to lead with protection because it was the only leadership you were shown. Your armor kept you safe. Now it is keeping him at a distance.
What your son is learning from this pattern
“Don't bring emotions to Dad.”
Your FRM protocol focus
Lead Self — RESET™
Your activation speed is your growth edge. You regulate before you react.
Practice one
RESET™ before reaction
Before any conversation with your son where you feel activation rising, use RESET™. Exhale first. Step back one inch. Ask: what does this moment need from me as a father, not as the protector? Respond from that answer. Not from the armor.
Practice two
Softness is strength
Once this week, let your son see you uncertain. Not weak. Uncertain. “I'm not sure how to handle this. Let me think about it.” Notice what happens in him when your armor comes down.
Reflection
When do you use your protection to cover your fear? Name one moment this week where the armor went up, and what you were actually afraid of underneath it.
Your draft Father Code
Your draft Father Code
“When I feel activated, I exhale before I speak. I do not let my protection become his prison.”
In the program you build the full version, read aloud to a room of men who hold you to it.
Your free guide is on its way
The Father’s Reset Kit
Seven days to stop reacting and start leading.
Your RESET Guide, built for exactly the pattern you just read — plus the Father’s Reset Kit: five more guides for the whole house. Two of them are not for you; one is for your son, one is for the woman who has been holding everything together. Hand them over and say nothing else.
If you want to go further
You can practice this alone. Some fathers decide they no longer want to.
Over the next seven mornings I will send you one short letter a day — practical work for exactly this pattern. Nothing to buy. Start there.
